Concept
This post has been due to a long time ladies and gentlemen I present to you Train to Busan. The South Korean zombie spectacle that appeared out of nowhere and is a fresh take and expansion on the zombie craze our generation is going through. A divorced fund manager by the name of Seok-Woo is estranged from his young daughter Soo-An due to his job. They board the KTX (Korea Train Express) because Soo-An wishes to visit her mother for her birthday. And thus this is where everything goes horribly horribly wrong. As they board the train at Seoul Station as the train leaves people start violently attacking other people and tearing their flesh, if that wasn't bad enough a young woman boards the train with a horrific bite mark on her thigh. She changes into a zombie and thus in such a small compact area as a train it is not long until the virus spreads. And now Seok-Woo must protect Soo-An from the horde that has invaded the train. The train must get to Busan where a quarantine zone is based. With additional characters such as a homeless man, a tough guy with his pregnant wife, a CEO who is only out for himself, a baseball team and a pair of elderly twins each character has their own agendas and reactions.
Review
This film had me saying 'oh come on!' a lot as it throws you around the place, similar to don't breathe there is no safe moments at all. It is a rollercoaster of a film with a few cliches but entirely enjoyable. With such media like The Walking Dead and The Last of Us taking extra care with surviving and taking things slow Train to Busan is very quick and reflexed. There is no or little time to think and every decision could be safety or death. Just how the outbreak of an apocalypse of the undead would be. You feel for Seok-Woo as he is stuck in this lost situation trying to protect his daughter and you feel the childish vulnerability of Soo-An knowing if anything happens to her father, she will not survive. Train to Busan became the highest grossing Korean film in Malaysia, Hong Kong and Singapore, South Korea itself had 11 million movie goers.Yeon Sang-Ho also made an animated prequel called Seoul Station a month before the release of Train to Busan. Which I have kindly placed here below for you.
The film had some negative reviews for the characters and its lack of innovation to the zombie sub-genre. Critics are however idiots, and you should watch this fantastic zombie film and take the ride.Hello Ministers of Spooks thank you for checking out our recommendation of Train to Busan, if you wish to follow our cult all you have to do is click on the links below, and either like or follow.
